After several years of lagging sales, the CIS market in U.S. hospitals over 200 beds largely rebounded in 2009, spurred by HITECH and the coveted meaningful use (MU) dollars. Heading into 2010, many wondered how long the boom would last—would the market continue its upward climb, level out, or fall back to pre-2009 levels? By independently validating vendor-claimed wins, KLAS investigated what happened in the CIS market in 2010. In the end, CIS sales in 2010 stayed at approximately the same level as sales in 2009. But which vendors are providers counting on to carry them through an ever-changing healthcare environment?
