Can Enterprise Vendors Keep Up?
Mobile devices have exploded into healthcare and are affecting all providers. As physicians work to improve outcomes and be more efficient, effective, and flexible in their delivery of healthcare, they are increasingly looking for ways to integrate mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets into their workflow. Seventy percent of respondents indicated that they are using mobile devices to access clinical applications from almost every major EMR vendor (Allscripts, Cerner, Epic, GE, McKesson, MEDITECH, and Siemens), and more providers use Apple than any other device. Apple’s dominance has been fueled by healthcare user preference as physicians bring their own devices (BYOD) into organizations to help them provide patient care.
